WANT TO START A RESTAURANT?
DON'T FORGET THE PERMITS
If you have established your business, you can start with the hospitality/restaurant permit or as we call it: horeca/restaurant permit. If this is not the case, first read the text under own business. Are you going to serve alcohol in your restaurant? Then you must apply for a "hospitality" so called horeca/restaurant permit.
To qualify for a hospitality/restaurant permit, you must meet several obligations and conditions. These obligations and conditions relate to:
-
Building construction (building permit, site plan location drawing of all rooms in the building etc. etc.)
-
Fire safety (all safety conditions such as emergency exit, escape routes, separation and fire resistant walls, exhaust hoods, gas shut-off, fire alarm system, etc. etc.)
-
Hygiene (inspection list with the "100 point count")
-
Public Order, closing time, compliance with maximum production number of decibels at music installation, live music etc. etc.
-
Possible nuisance to the surroundings and the environment, sewer connection, grease separator, gas cylinders, extraction system, storage of cleaning agents/chemicals etc. etc.
To obtain the hospitality/restaurant permit, all 5 points mentioned above must be in order, and unfortunately, to meet the points above, many different actions are required!
